Description

Climate change has driven global temperature increases, resulting in severe heat waves, altered precipitation pat-terns, and extreme weather events. In April 2024, a mas-sive die-off of hybrid catfish larvae and fry occurred inThai aquaculture farms, coinciding with elevated tempera-tures of air (37–41C) and freshwater (30–32C). Thisstudy aimed to investigate the correlation between ele-vated temperatures and abnormal embryonic develop-ment in hybrid catfish. Controlled mating of male NorthAfrican catfish (Clarias gariepinus) and female bighead cat-fish (Clarias macrocephalus) was conducted in May andJune 2024.
